The incredible and world famous Sinharaja forest is located right in front of the property and on the left you will find the equally wondrous forest reserve of Kalubowitiyana. Take a stroll through the 140,134 hectare Kalubowitiyana forest and climb up the Kalubowitiyana hill to experience a breathtaking view of the coastline of Matara. 

Also the Sinharaja forest is a paradise for nature lovers home to a large variety of indigenous flora and fauna. Declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO, you can witness the beauty of no less than 7 majestic waterfalls hidden in the jungle within walking distance awaiting discovery.

While on his endeavour to establish Tea plantations in Ceylon, Taylor fell in love with Loolecondera Estate which adjoins the Pattiyagama Estate where he marked his name in gold as the pioneer of the legendary Ceylon Tea. This made the central hill country of Ceylon a piece of heaven on earth. Taylors Seat was where Taylor had foreseen the future of Ceylon Tea when he witnessed the astonishing views of the Hills & Valleys spread out before him.

However, for the majority of the year, the natural breeze makes air-conditioning unnecessary.

The second series of bungalows offers a unique experience with open-air washrooms. Inspired by feedback from our guests who relished the joy of showering under a palm tree or the tropical sky while gazing at the stars, we designed these bungalows to incorporate two showers and artistic installations that evolve over time.
