Fantastic lodges with great foo
We’ve done camping lodges before and knew what to expect… except we didn’t. These really were luxury lodges coupled with fantastic authentic food and excellent service. We had 2 lodges each with a plunge pool which were exceptionally clean and welcoming. Aircon was lovely and cool, beds were comfy and the decor really fitting. The outdoor shower was magical. We had an evening safari and a morning safari and saw a wealth of creatures including the elusive leopard. If you’re doing safari - it’s (red) dusty so don’t wear white or new clothes. Couldn’t recommend enough. If you’ve got this far then you’re looking at the right place to stay.

Very good experience
Great exhibitors this hotel. The villas are beautiful, spacious, very comfortable and nickels level cleanliness. Very Good Welcoming also. We went on safari with ranger Manuscha and saw leopards, a bear and an elephant. Dinner in the evening in the dark in front of a fire. No mosquitoes. Dinner and breakfast very qualitative.

Magical safari stay in Wilpattu
We spent 2 nights and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Our villa on stilts, with a private pool underneath, was beautiful and surrounded by nature. The property itself is stunning, with a stylish main building/restaurant and a serene setting. What made the experience even more special was the personal attention. Gayasha and Damith regularly came by to chat and check if everything was perfect, and all the staff were exceptionally warm and friendly. We had the most wonderful time and can’t wait to return!

Great safari experience!
We had a great time - the rooms were comfortable and the location was great, just minutes from Wilpattu Park. They got advance tickets so we didn’t have to wait in the long line of jeeps before our safari, and did lots of other things like that to make the experience streamlined and allow us to focus on the animals. Priya, our guide, was particularly good, he knew a ton about local wildlife and ecology and was an excellent spotter.

Perfect stay
Absolutely loved Thamara Villas - perfect stay here. Secluded villas, dipping pool to refresh after a dusty safari. Food delicious mix of traditional Sri Lankan food and dishes inspired by those flavours but with a twist. Food beautifully presented. Service for food can be a little slow so you just need to be prepared for meals to be relaxed. All staff helpful and our ranger Gaya was excellent. Definitely try to get a villa with a pool.
