Excited and slightly nervous.
Abseiling down Laxapana Falls was easily one of the most exciting things we did in Sri Lanka. The experience started with a scenic walk through the forest, which was beautiful and gave us time to get excited and slightly nervous about what was coming. Once we reached the top, the instructors explained everything clearly and helped us get comfortable with the harness and equipment before the descent.

The abseiling was definitely the highlight.
The whole experience was much more than just the abseiling itself. We started with a refreshing drink and snack before heading along the forest trail towards Laxapana Falls. The walk was peaceful, with lush greenery and fresh mountain air all around us. By the time we reached the top, we were already impressed by the scenery and the view of the waterfall from above. The abseiling was definitely the highlight, and seeing the waterfall and landscape while slowly descending was something I'll never forget. The instructors were encouraging and explained the techniques carefully before we started, which made the experience feel safe even when standing at the edge was a little intimidating! The video of the descent was a lovely way to remember the day.

Checked our helmets, harnesses and safety equipment.
I had never tried abseiling before, so I was definitely nervous about this experience, especially when I first saw the drop at Laxapana Falls. The team made a huge difference, though. We started with a short forest trek and were given a snack and drink before reaching the top. Once there, the instructors gave us a detailed safety briefing and hands-on training, then carefully checked our helmets, harnesses and safety equipment. After that, it was time to actually go over the edge! The first few seconds were nerve-racking, but the instructors guided us throughout the descent and made it much easier to relax and enjoy the experience. The views were incredible, and the waterfall looked completely different from below. Getting a video of the descent afterwards was a great bonus. I would definitely do it again, even though I was convinced beforehand that I wouldn't!

The safety briefing was extremely thorough!
From the moment we met the Rapid Adventures team, I felt reassured and excited at the same time. The welcome drink and light snack helped calm the nerves before the forest walk, which was surprisingly peaceful. The safety briefing was extremely thorough, and the instructors took time to make sure everyone understood the equipment and techniques. Stepping over the edge of Laxapana Falls was one of the most intense moments of my life the power of the water, the height, the sound everything was overwhelming in the best way. I felt completely safe the entire time, and the video footage they captured is something I will treasure forever.

This is a must do adventure.
I’ve done abseiling in a few countries, but this experience at Laxapana stands out. The setting alone is breathtaking, and the Rapid Adventures guides were calm, confident, and incredibly professional. The training session was hands-on and easy to follow, even for beginners. When it was finally time to descend, the adrenaline rush was unbelievable. Knowing the team was watching every move gave me total confidence. This is a must do adventure for anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

Keeping safety at the highest level.
I was extremely nervous before starting, but the guides were patient, encouraging, and never rushed me. The walk through the forest helped settle my nerves, and the safety procedures were very reassuring. Going over the edge of the waterfall felt unreal the roar of the water, the mist, and the height made it an unforgettable challenge. Reaching the bottom filled me with pride and excitement. Rapid Adventures truly knows how to deliver adrenaline while keeping safety at the highest level.
