Even as a beginner, I felt completely supported.

The safety briefing and preparation at the waterfall were extremely professional and reassuring. The guides explained every step of the abseiling process in detail and made sure everyone felt fully prepared before starting. The equipment provided was high quality, and there was a strong focus on safety without making the experience feel intimidating. What stood out most was how calm and confident the instructors were they really helped ease any nervousness and built trust in the process. Even as a beginner, I felt completely supported and ready for the descent.

As soon as the descent began, it felt like stepping into another world surrounded by cascading water, jungle cliffs, and misty air. The guides were always there for support, guiding each movement and ensuring everything went smoothly. It was the perfect mix of adrenaline and natural beauty. Every second of the descent felt exciting yet completely safe, making it an experience I will never forget.

Such a unique experience.

I’ve done a few adventure activities before, but this felt completely different. Starting from the Rapid Adventure center and driving through the greenery of Kitulgala already set a nice mood. The walk to the waterfall was short but really scenic. Once we got there, the safety briefing was very detailed, which gave me a lot of confidence. The actual abseiling part was amazing. It’s not just about the thrill it’s also about the environment. You’re literally going down a waterfall, surrounded by nature. It felt raw and real, not like a staged activity. Definitely something I’d recommend even if you’re trying this for the first time.

I honestly wanted to go again.

I’ll be honest, I was nervous the moment we reached Kitulgala. The whole setup at the action center felt professional, but once we started heading toward Sandun Ella Waterfall, reality kicked in I was actually going to abseil down a waterfall. The short walk through the forest was beautiful and kind of calming, which I needed. The guides were amazing they explained everything clearly and made sure we felt safe before starting. The first step down the waterfall was the scariest part. After that, it turned into pure adrenaline and excitement. Being surrounded by water, rock, and jungle while slowly descending was just unreal. By the time I reached the bottom, I was smiling like crazy. I honestly wanted to go again.

I felt so proud of myself.

The setting at Sandun Ella was beautiful very green, very peaceful, which is funny because what you’re about to do is the opposite of peaceful 😅 Once I started going down, the fear slowly turned into excitement. The sound of the water, the feeling of being suspended there, and the view around me made it such a unique moment. When it was over, I felt so proud of myself. It’s one of those experiences that stays with you.
