Meemure is one of Sri Lanka's most untouched villages, tucked deep inside the Knuckles Mountain Range. This one day tour takes care of everything from Kandy: our vehicle picks you up, drives you into the mountains, and brings you back the same evening, so you get a full Meemure adventure without arranging your own transport or an overnight stay.
Once you arrive, choose how you want to spend your day. Head to Sooriya Arana for stream sliding, swimming, and confidence jumps into natural rock pools, or trek through the forest trails to the hidden Diyakerella Waterfall. Either way, the day includes a home-style village breakfast, lunch, and evening tea, plus time to walk through the village and see a side of Sri Lanka that has barely changed in generations.
The drive from Kandy takes roughly 3.5 to 4 hours each way through the Knuckles foothills, so this is a long, full day out rather than a relaxed one. Pickup starts very early in the morning to leave enough daylight for the activity itself, and you'll be back in Kandy after dark. If you'd rather spread the travel over two days, ask us about our overnight Meemure packages instead.

Our vehicle picks you up from your Kandy hotel or a central meeting point and takes you into the Knuckles Mountain Range toward Meemure.

Your chosen adventure
Water Adventure option: Head to Sooriya Arana for stream sliding, swimming, and confidence jumps into natural rock pools, all guided with safety equipment provided. Trek option: Set off on a scenic 2-3 hour trek through the Knuckles jungle, passing smaller waterfalls before reaching the hidden Diyakerella Falls.
Lunch and downtime
Return to the guest house for a freshly prepared local lunch, then relax or explore the village before heading back.
Evening tea and departure
Enjoy a cup of traditional village tea, then begin the drive back to Kandy, with drop-off at your original pickup point.

Do not consume alcohol, intoxicants, or heavy meals before activities.
The forest is home to many different creatures and teeming with leeches. Carry a bottle of Dettol antiseptic to quickly detach any leeches that may cling to you. Beware of allergies to insect bites and stings.
We need to know if you are suffering from heart conditions, epilepsy, or any other medical condition before participating in our activities. Especially food allergies.
Be honest about your level of fitness. Do not attempt an activity if you are not in a condition to participate.
Please wear suitable clothing and shoes for the activity. Make sure they're comfortable and that you won't mind them getting a bit damp or muddy.

Everything was well organized.
This is a great option if you want something fun but not too intense. The day starts off relaxed with breakfast and a short village walk, which I actually enjoyed more than expected. The water activities are definitely the highlight. The natural slides and jumps are super fun, and the location itself is really beautiful. It feels very untouched and clean. Everything was well organized, and the guides were friendly and helpful throughout. It’s the kind of experience where you’re active but still relaxed at the same time.

The walk through the village was calm and beautiful — you really get to see a different side of Sri Lanka, very simple and peaceful. Then comes the best part the water activities at Sooriya Arana. Sliding through the streams and jumping into those natural pools was just pure fun. The guides made sure everything was safe but still kept the energy up. Really enjoyable day trip. Meemure has a very calm and authentic feel, and this experience lets you enjoy both the village side and the adventure side. The water activities were the best part for me simple but so much fun. You don’t need anything extreme to enjoy it. Just being in those clear waters surrounded by nature is enough. Also appreciated the downtime at the end. Sitting with a tea and just relaxing before heading back was a nice touch.
