No noise, no crowds just pure silence!
Okay this trek is not your typical “nice walk with views” this one actually pushes you a bit, and that’s exactly why I loved it so much. Starting from Nuwara Eliya, the whole drive up to Horton Plains National Park already sets the mood. It’s cold, misty, and feels completely different from the rest of Sri Lanka. Once we started the trail toward Kirigalpoththa, you can immediately tell this isn’t a crowded tourist path. It’s quiet, raw, and honestly a bit wild. The 7 km hike up had everything forest patches, open plains, and some rocky climbs that really made you work for it. But reaching the top… wow. Standing there at that height, with nothing but clouds and endless views around you, it felt like we were completely disconnected from everything else. No noise, no crowds just pure silence and space. One of those moments where you just stand there and take it all in.

Felt like a proper adventure.
The trail itself is beautiful but also rugged. You’re not just walking you’re navigating, climbing, and actually experiencing the terrain. It made the whole journey feel more meaningful. Kirigalpoththa summit was definitely the highlight. It’s not crowded like other famous viewpoints, so you actually get time and space to enjoy it. We just sat there for a while, taking in the views and the silence. By the time we headed back, I was tired, but in that satisfying way where you feel like you’ve really done something. Ending the day back in Nuwara Eliya, warm and relaxed, just completed the whole experience perfectly.

Not easy… but 100% worth it
The trail to Kirigalpoththa felt untouched compared to other places. There were moments where it was just us, the wind, and the sound of nature. No distractions at all. Walking through those open grasslands with the cool air hitting you was such a vibe. The climb toward the summit gets a bit intense, but once you reach the top, you completely forget the effort. The views are insane wide, open, and kind of dramatic. It doesn’t feel touristy at all, which made it even better. The return hike was actually really enjoyable too. Slower pace, more time to take in everything, and that quiet satisfaction of knowing you just did something pretty epic.

Epic adventure with panoramic rewards.
Trekking to Kirigalpotta was a dream come true. The drive from Nuwara Eliya into Horton Plains was scenic and refreshing, setting the tone for the hike. The 7 km trail challenged us with rocky climbs and forest paths, but the effort was completely worth it. At the summit, the views were nothing short of spectacular mountains, clouds, and untouched highland scenery stretching endlessly. The descent gave us time to absorb the surroundings and the experience as a whole. This trek is perfect for adventurers seeking a mix of challenge, nature, and incredible views.

Highly recommended for serious hikers.

Truly an epic adventure!
The trek to Kirigalpotta with Rapid Adventures was an experience I’ll never forget. From the hotel pickup and scenic drive to Horton Plains to the moment we set foot on the trail, everything was perfectly organized. The 7 km ascent was challenging, but trekking through dense forests, open grasslands, and rocky paths made every step worthwhile. I felt exhausted but exhilarated. Truly an epic adventure!
